Nathan wants a big dog. His plans for the outdoor dog house that he wants to build is a basic rectangular design with an A-shaped peaked roof and a floor. The dog house has the following dimensions (in centimetres):
the base (floor) of the dog house is 150 cm by 72 cm
the height from the floor panel to the peak of the roof is 120 cm
the end pieces (from the floor to the bottom of the roof) are 72 cm by 72 cm
the slanted edge of the roof is 60 cm in length
Add the given dimensions to the diagram. Then make a list of the nine pieces of wood required to construct the dog house, and the area of each. What is the total area (in square centimeters) of all nine pieces of wood?
